Caroline : Shiki?

Shiki whom were facing the road turned around when he heard his name being called.

Shiki : Oh yes.Sorry for disturbing you.

Caroline : No no,its fine though.Why are you here?

Shiki : I tried to reach you but then the one who answered the phone was somebody else and she told me you’re here.So that’s why I came.

Caroline : (confused) And you want to see me because?

Shiki : Oh,yes.This is why.

Shiki took out a small baby blue box from his pocket at handed it to Caroline.

Shiki : Rion asked me to give this to you before I leave.

Caroline stared at the palm-sized baby blue box but then lifted her head up in a flash.

Caroline : Before you leave?

Shiki : Im leaving for France tomorrow morning.

Caroline : You’re leaving for France?

Shiki : Got a wedding to run for.

Caroline : oh.

Shiki : I need to rush now.We’ll see anytime soon Caroline .Need to buy all the stuff Rion had ask me to.

Caroline : Oh okay,thanks for dropping by anyway.I’ll see you when…I see you.

Shiki smiled and bowed a little before turning .He walked slowly to cross the road but then he turned around to face Caroline.

Shiki : Au revoir,Jean-Marie.

Caroline  was shocked when Shiki said that and she just smiled and replied the same to Shiki.

Caroline : Au revoir Takeru.(smiles)

Shiki walked for a while and he reached his black car  and lean on it.There was another girl with dark red haired leaning beside him and both of them stared into the sky.

Shiki : (sigh)

Rion : You didn’t tell her?

Shiki : I did,but I doubt she got the message.

Rion : You idiot man.You have waited all these years and gain nothing?

Shiki :Since when are you an expert in this rion?

Rion : Hello? Excuse me.I am 25 this year that’s why.Did you expect me to act like I am 15 and know nothing? (rolling her eyes)

Rion ran her finger through her long wavy red haired and adjusted her baby purple beanie on her head.

Rion : Takeru,you have love this girl for more than 10 years.You didn’t even date anyone at all in between these years.10 years is not a short time you bloody idiot scumbag.Why didn’t you get straight to the point?We are flying back to France tomorrow early in the morning and you are wasting your chances.

Shiki  : On n'aime que ce qu'on ne possède pas tout entire,Rion.

Rion :Oh now,you are speaking French to me (annoyed)

Shiki : (laughs)

Rion : vous êtes tellement ennuyeux ! [ You are so annoying]

Shiki : alright,alright.Lets get back alright?Enough Rion.

Rion : Ugh,I don’t understand guys at all.You love someone but you let her go easily.Where is the sincerity in you guys?

Shiki  whom was about to get inside the car stopped halfway and turned to Rion whom are still babbling about his actions.

Shiki : Rion,if love is all about owning.Then,the world is one big cruel place to live.

Rion : Whatever Shiki takeru.Lets go home.I don’t want to hear any of your philosophies about love.We have a wedding to prepare and you are the important one.Move move move.Im driving.

THE NEXT DAY,MORNING

HARUNA’S ROOM

Caroline : (staring at the blue box)

Haruna : Have you looked inside?

Caroline : NO.

Mika : What are you thinking?

Caroline : I don’t know.

Haruna : (staring at Caroline)

Caroline :….

Haruna : This is like a strange night now.I have never seen you like this before.So lost,so speechless,so ….lost.

Caroline : I have forgotten something I guess…

Mika whom were drying her hair stopped her action and turned to the dumb-founded Caroline.

Mika : What?

Caroline : I actually forgotten how it feels to love someone or to be loved by the person you love.I mean like that feeling of having a guy loving you.I don’t think I can detect that feeling in me.It’s almost invisible to be catch by my conscious…wait,what am I saying?

Haruna : Caroline…

Mika walked towards the bed and sat infron across Caroline

Mika : You’re saying this because you haven’t met someone worthy to love?

Caroline : It’s just like,it feels too long since my last relationship with Eiji.I haven’t date anyone after that.

Haruna : ……oh my god.And that’s like 10 or 11 years ago..

Caroline : I don’t think I can recall the feelings.10 years of being stoic has given me this such a werid feeling.

Mika : And you wanted to break that wall?

Caroline : What wall?

Mika : Are you saying that you feel like there is a wall between you heart and your conscious that you cant detect the feeling of having someone loving you?Because it’s been so long since your last relationship,right?

Haruna  : (turning to Mika ) So…accurate…

Caroline : Probably like that…

Mika :Then why not opening the blue box and find out the answer?

Caroline slowly moved her eyes to the blue box in her hands.She hesitated to open the lid but then she slowly put her fingers on the soft lid and tried to lift it up.

Caroline : (gulp)

Mika : Go ahead.Whatever it may be.It will answer your doubts.

Caroline let out a sigh and lifted the lid up.

Haruna : I doubt a girl would be giving another girl this kind of thing…But what it is exactly..(peeping)

Caroline : …..(shocked)

Mika bend a little to have a closer look at the shining object in the small box and then she looked at Caroline

Caroline : ….

Mika : Caroline?

Haruna : What happened to her?

Caroline : Oh my god….Im not prepared for this.

Mika : Care to explain?

Caroline  placed the blue box on the spot beside her and rub her face with her palms.

Caroline : (shaking her head)

Mika : ????

Haruna : Does this got to do with france 12 years ago?

Caroline : Remember when I told you I lost my necklace that my late grandmother gave me?

Mika : (nodding)

Caroline : The necklace which have my name “ Jean-Marie” engraved on the golden charm with the mocking jay ?

Haruna : the one you told me you lost on the last day of your school ?

Caroline : Yes yes yes.

Mika : Shiki found it?

Caroline : Seems like it.

Haruna : Oh my god…

12 YEARS AGO

FRANCE

Caroline : I cant find it!

Euginie : (rubbing her head)

Caroline got up from the bushes with leaves all over her hair and let out a big sigh

Euginie : I doubt you can find them at this kind of hour.

Caroline : But ,still its my last day of school and I carelessly lost the necklace.(sigh)

Euginie : OH come one Marie,you have me here.If I ever found it,I’ll post it to you all they way to Japan.

As Caroline were too engaged in her thoughts suddenly Euginie saw a group of guys walking by the school garden towards the main gate.

Euginie: Marie,marie!Thats eiji and his gang.

Caroline lifted her head up and the first guy she saw was not Eiji,but Shiki.Coincidently ,Shiki was looking at her too.

Caroline : (turning away) I am so annoyed now.Why would they be here in this hour.

Euginie : Looking at Eiji himself made me want to puke all my lunch just now (rolling her eyes)

Caroline : Where else should I search for…

Euginie : But but,don’t you think Shiki looks different compared to before? He had his hair all gel up.And he looks some sort more attractive then before don’t you think?

Caroline : Come one Euginie,are you serious?I lost my necklace and you are stalking Shiki?

Euginie : Just saying Marie! It is because he is your accidental hero all this time don’t you think so? (winking)

Caroline : Shut up Euginie.One more word about Eiji or Shiki.I wont let you help me pack tonight.

Euginie : Okay fine Caroline Jean-Marie. You are so stoic,oh why.(annoyed)

Caroline : I CANT FIND MY NECKLACE!!!!(worried)
