Chapter 110 - Jean-Marie

ODERA’S RESIDENCE 

Haruna was sound asleep since it is almost 4 in the morning.But Mika cant get any sleep at all.She kept looking at her phone,waiting for a call from Caroline.She did not feel good when Caroline said she wanted to to France alone despite it is her hometown.And plus,Mika was worried if anything happened to Caroline.

Haruna : (suddenly woke up)

Mika : (shocked)

Haruna rubbed her eyes and saw Mika sitting near the windows

Haruna : Damn it Mika,you almost give me a heart attack.What time is it now?

Mika : Near to 4.

Haruna : WHAT? And you are up?!

Mika : I cant sleep.

Haruna : Are you worried about Caroline?

Mika : Indeed.

Haruna : I don’t feel good about this at all.(sigh)

Mika : She didn’t even call any of us. I would definitely smack her head when she come back.

Haruna : I’ll help you with it *yawning.

Mika : Go back to sleep Haruna.You look like a living version of the old woman in Spirited Away.

Haruna : Oh shut it Mika.Im just gonna..go back to sleep.Get  some sleep you old woman.

Mika : Goodnight Haruna (laughing)

Mika  let out a sigh and checked her phone.She cant even sleep,not until Caroline update her with any news.Any news.

PARIS

Caroline took her time,looking at everyone at the park spending their time with their favorite people. One by one left the park since its already late but the park are not yet to be empty.Caroline arranged her hair neatly and then she unzipped her jacket.She stood up and stretch herself before finally walking towards the main road.

She was walking leisurely,taking her time observing all the shops  and cafes there.She walked passed the main road abut then she decided to use the small bridge to get to the other side of the road. 

As she was walking towards the bridge suddenly she heard a distance sound of somebody running not far from her.She lifted her head up and what she saw was not something she expected.Not even near to what she can expect in her life too.

She abruptly stopped walking because she was too shocked looking at the person infront of her whom looked like he just finished a 10 km marathon because he look so messy with his tie all loosed up,his hair probably were gel up few hours ago look a bit messy but yet the person infront of her still have his white black tux on.It seems like the guy didn’t even care to take it off.

Caroline was too speechless to look at the guy whom are breathing hard at the other end of the bridge.She thought she was dreaming but she was certain she did not fell asleep just now. Her senses seems to froze a few seconds when she lifted her head up just now. She didn’t even blink her eyes.

Caroline was staring at the guy infront of her and  because of too much anxiety bottoming up in her head,she almost lost balance.

Caroline : What..

Takeru : Jean Marie!

Caroline was too shocked that she took a few steps back.

Takeru : Marie.. wait

Takeru was about to walk towards Caroline despite him trying to catch his breath after running non stop just now.

Caroline : Wait! Where are you going?What are you doing? Why are you here? What the heck are you doing here? Go away. Wait.yes go away--

Takeru stopped for a  second and smiled ,but then he ignored Caroline’s babbling and he went straight to her and hug her really tight.

That’s it.

Caroline didn’t even have enough time to think about running away because Takeru was fast enough to close the distance between both of them.She stopped babbling when she realized Takeru was already hugging her and his right hand was in her hair

None of them said anything for a long time and Caroline cant even search for her voice to speak out.

Takeru was hugging Caroline as if he wont ever want to let go of her.

Caroline :….Takeru..

Takeru : Let me hug you a little longer.

Caroline didn’t do anything and she didn’t even know what do at all. Takeru then finally loosen up the hug and he stepped back a little just to create an ample space between both of them.

Takeru : Why did you leave?

Caroline :Wait,why did you--

Takeru : Answer my question Caroline Jean-Marie.Why did you leave the hotel without seeing me first

Caroline : Why did I leave?

Takeru : You were at the hotel,why did you leave?

Caroline tried to free her hands from Takeru’s grasp and she look at Takeru.

Takeru :…

Caroline : What do you expect me to do? You were getting married,I mean you got married.And I don’t even know what to do. I don’t even know what to do.What do you expect me to do!? You got married and why would I go and see you? Such a dumbass move to suddenly barge in and tell you that I love you while you just got married? I am not that idiot and a dumbass like you to do something reckless like that.And why the heck did you ran here?

Caroline took a deep breath and  ran her fingers through her long hair.Takeru on the other side just smile lightly as he listens to Caroline.

Takeru : That’s all? You don’t want to congratulate me?

Caroline : (staring at Takeru)

Takeru : (smiling)

Caroline : that’s it Im leaving.

Takeru : At least listen to my explanation first Marie.

Caroline:  I have no time.

Caroline abruptly freed her arms from Takeru’s hands and turn around.She walked a few steps before Takeru finaly spoke out

Takeru : First,you should have listen to me..Second,you should have like give me a call or anything.third,you don’t have my number ,I know.But I am sure you have Rion’s.Forth,you really should just go inside the hotel when you arrived.And fifth,you should congratulate me on getting a brother in law.

Caroline came to sudden halt and turn around.

Caroline :Why would I congratulate--wait,what?

Takeru  smiles lightly and walk towards Caroline slowly,trying to close the little distance between them

Takeru : Congratulate me on getting a brother in law.

Caroline : I don’t understand.What in the world are you saying Shiki Takeru?

Takeru : Whoever give you the notion that I am getting married?(lifting his eyebrows)

Caroline : The lady from the shop next to yours and then the couple who just came out from the hotel…and wait,you said you had a wedding to run for.Of course you are getting married.What else?

Takeru : Jean-Marie, if I were to marry,I would need to propose you first then I can get married.

Caroline looked at Takeru as if he just talked in a language she cant understand.

Caroline : What are you saying? You didn’t get married? Then the wedding is for?

Takeru : It was my eldest sister ,Kanon’s wedding. She married her 10 years love of life, Marc. I don’t think you met Kanon yet because she had been living in German all these years.And I never did tell you anything about her.

Caroline looked at Takeru and said nothing. She looked so confused that she does not know how to react. To laugh or to cry,her brain seems to damaged for a few seconds.

Caroline abruptly took a step back and her eyes are locked on Takeru.

Caroline : I don’t believe you.

Takeru : Are you sure?

Caroline : I don’t (shaking her head)

Without any hesitations Takeru went straight to Caroline and kissed her.

And as for Caroline,it seems like the time has stopped.Caroline was too taken aback when Takeru did that.None of her hands or legs moved.Her whole body seems to paralyzed by Takeru’s action.But,nevertheless,it was not something she would not want to happen.

Takeru lean backward and look at Caroline.

Caroline : …..

Takeru : You believe me now?

Caroline :…..

Takeru : Should I kiss you again to make--

Caroline : Wait.

Caroline raised her right hand and stopped Takeru.

Caroline : So,wait.No,Wait.Did you just… (speechless)

Takeru : (laughing)

Takeru  cant help it but laugh at Caroline’s expression.Takeru then pulled her into his arms and hold her tightly.

Caroline : I thought I lost you.

Takeru : I thought I lost you Marie.You don’t even want to imagine how I ran from the 4^th floor and searched for you.Despite I don’t even know where to search for you.

Caroline : Wait,how did you know I came ?

Takeru : My uncle called me saying that he saw somebody like “ Jean -marie”.I think the couple you bumped into just now was my uncle and his wife. I didn’t even think twice,all I know is I need to find you.

Caroline : Wait,your hotel is like--

Takeru : I ran to you Jean Marie.

Caroline : No wonder you look a bit…disarranged..

Takeru : (laughing)

Caroline : But you are still at fault for making me weep like a little kid who just lost her lollipop.(annoyed)

Takeru : So,what do you want me to,my lady?

Caroline just laughed when Takeru swiftly addressed her as “ my lady”.

Caroline : Don’t start Takeru.

Caroline was walking ahead of Takeru but then Takeru caught her hand and pull her to him.

Takeru : I love you Caroline Jean-Marie.

Caroline : ……

Caroline’s tongue seems to be hard and tied.She didn’t know what happened but she cant seem to find her voice.Perhaps it is her first time experiencing something very deep in her life.But one thing she is sure,the man standing infront of her is the man she would love to spend the rest of her life with.

Caroline smiled and in a swift she pulled Takeru’s tie so that she can kiss him.
