Chapter 99 - Ties

THE NEXT DAY

Mika was watching the television and suddenly the commercial for  Shinn’s upcoming performance were on.

Mika quickly switched the tv off and lean back on the couch.

Haruna : Have he called you?

Mika : No.

Haruna : (looking at Mika)

Mika : Pretty much busy indeed.Dont worry about me.Im gonna get some food from the kitchen.You want anything?

Haruna : Chocolates!Thank you!

As Mika was walking towards the kitchen suddenly Haruna’s phone rang and it was “ Hiiro”

Haruna : Helloo?

Shinn : Don’t say anything.This is Shinn.

Haruna : (whispering) I knew it.What the heck are you doing?

Shinn : Can you help me?

Haruna : Help?

Shinn  : Can you?

Haruna : What is it?

EVENING

Mika : What has gotten into you Haruna?

Haruna : I just feel the urge to eat here.Hiiro told me it’s a very cosy place to have something light.

Mika : Sure it does.

Haruna : The French toast with bananas and ice cream are the best here!

Mika : Can I get like two sets of that and a green tea latte.

Haruna :Two sets?

Mika : I am just..hungry (laughing)

Haruna : 2 sets it is then!

Mika : We should come here often.Its super cosy Im gonna like this place.

Haruna : (laughing)Well,pretty much I hope it lightens up your gloomy mood Mika.

Mika : (rolling her eyes)

Haruna  : I wanna catch a late movie later.Dont say no and you would have to accompany me okay?

Mika : What movie ?

Haruna : Any movies I can watch later?

Mika : Alright.

Haruna : (shocked)

Mika : What?

Haruna : Now,this is a first for you to say yes right away for a movie.

Mika : Well,why not?

MIDNIGHT

Mika was busy sipping her hot coffee after the 2 hours movie.Both of them decided to have supper at one of the 24 hours café at the street.

Haruna : Hiro told me he always come here for work.Practicing and stuff.

Mika : (leaning back at the chair)

Haruna realized that Mika was acting a bit different that she seems to be so lost sometimes.

Haruna : Mikaaaa?

Mika : (snapped out)

Haruna : (sigh)

Mika : What?

Haruna : Just say it man.You miss Shinn.And why the heck he didn’t even call you.

Mika : I didnt say anything.

As Haruna was about to respond to that,suddenly her phone rang and Hiro’s name popped on the screen.

Mika : Just go.Im fine here (smiles)

Haruna : I’ll be right back! 5 minutes!

Haruna quickly got up and went out to answer Hiro’s call.

Mika just looked at Haruna as she walked towards the café’s door .She then continued to read her novel which she bought just now.

Mika : I might just kill Shinn when he got back.

Suddenly,a waiter came to the table and put a glass of plain water and before he left ,Mika stopped him

Mika : This would be?

Waiter : The plain water you ordered (smiles)

Mika : Eh? But I didn’t order anything.

The waiter just smiled and bowed to her without saying anything.

Mika : (confused)

Mika quickly closed her book and stared at the glass of plain water.

Mika : When did I order plain water ?( staring at the glass infront of her)

Mika then leaned forward to look at the plain water closely since she saw something shiny in it.As she leaned closer she realized the shiny object is actually a ring and she quickly  leaned backward.

Mika : why is there a ring inside this glass?!( confused)

Just before Mika could turn around suddenly somebody came up from behind

Shinn :Because I am here.

Mika quickly turned around when she heard Shinn’s voice and she got up in a flash.She was too shocked that she stepped back and look at Shinn with such a disbelief face.

Shinn : (grins)

Mika : (staring at Shinn) What…what are you doing here?

Shinn said nothing and smiled at her.

Shinn : I was expecting you flip the table and kill me with the book or something.

Mika : I was about to.Why are you here?I thought you were supposed to be--

Shinn : In Sapporo?

Mika : ….yes…or wait.

Shinn : I was in Tokyo the whole time.

Mika : (confused)

Shinn : (nodding)

Mika : And you told me you were working and you didn’t even call?

Shinn : (laughing)

Mika : You really want me to flip this table dont  you?

Shinn : Been missing that mad face of yours.How can I live without that.(laughing)

Mika : Shinn.What are you doing here?

Shinn : I have been spending my week in my room,trying to figure out a way.A perfect way.

Mika : What perfect way?

Shinn : To get my girl to agree on marrying me.

Mika did not move an inch at all after Shinn suddenly said that.Shinn was looking straight at her and none of them moved.

Mika : (speechless)

Shinn then did a gesture and then the waiter walked towards them and took out the ring from the class and wipe it before handing it to Shinn.Mika just watched and did nothing because her brain literally stopped and probably not working at all.

Shinn : I know this is not one of the top romantic ways to do this but…

Mika stepped back because she was too lost and too shock and she cant really digest anything that moment.

Mika : What are you doing,…?

Shinn walked towards Mika and then in a swift he knelt on one knee and look at Mika.

Mika tried to calm herself because she was too shock to see Shinn infront of her and her brain just stopped working when Shinn suddenly knelt infront of her with a ring in his right hand

Shinn : Akizuki Mika,I know you would hate me for the rest of my life but  nevertheless ,Im offering my self to be annoyed by you for the rest of my life.And…

Shinn took a deep breathe and then he continued.

Shinn : Would you love to annoy me for the rest of your life?

Mika : (shocked)…what..

Shinn : Would you marry me,Mika ? (smiles)

Mika just stared at Shinn and to her surprise she feels her eyes began to damp.As if the tears are coming out but tearing up would not be  good option for now.

Everyone in the café focuses on Mika and Shinn and not even a single sound was heard that moment.As if everyone are anticipating the answer from Mika but yet Mika still look lost and speechless.

Shinn : (looking at Mika)

Mika : I don’t think saying no is a valid answer….

Shinn  : Is that a yes? Or a yes yes?

Mika : ….a …..a...a..y..ye....yes..?

Shinn smiled a little before finally getting up.He look at Mika whom are still looking lost and then he reached for her right hand.

Shinn : You cant,even go anywhere without me after this Mika.

Mika : (cough)

Shinn : Am I forgiven?

Mika : For disappearing for a week with no news at all? In your dreams Shinn.

Shinn : I guess we should just get married tonight then you will forgive me? Since a proposal did not make the cut (grinning)

Mika swiftly poke Shinn on his waist and stared at him.

Shinn : You are all mine Mika. No one can ever take you away from me .

Mika : Are you gonna make me swoon all over again?

Shinn : well,you can only swoon over me since I am your future husband,Akizuki Mika-san.

Mika literally let out a laugh because she seems to finally get a grip that she is gonna get married to Shinn and everything happened too sudden that it make her wonders a lot of things.

Haruna : EHEM.

Shinn whom were hugging Mika that time quickly turn around when he heard Haruna’s voice.

Hiiro : Well then,Haruna and my part are done here.So....

Mika : So you both were the master minds?(lifting her eyebrows)

Hiiro quickly raised both of his palms and points to Shinn.

Hiiro : I swear I know nothing about this.Blame your husband..I mean your future husband.He is the one who wants to do this.I told him you will kill us..I mean him.

Haruna : Hiiro !Shut it.You are babbling craps.

Mika : (laughing)

Haruna : So,ehem. Mika.I suppose you would have to forgive Shinn now.You cant imagine how mad she was all these days.You must not do this again Shinn.But damn,did you just proposed to her.I need time to digest this.(rubbing her forehead)

Mika : I need time too actually(staring at her ring)

Shinn and Hiiro exchanged glances and both of them let out a laugh.

Hiiro : Now I know why is it important to propose girls the right way.

Shinn : I suppose Ishia-san taught you that?

Hiiro : who else?

Haruna on the other hand kept on babbling to Mika about her ring and all off her wedding plans

Hiiro : You did right this time Shinn.(patting Shinn’s back)

Shinn : The right way for the right woman indeed.(smiles)
