Chapter 28- the beach

THE NEXT MORNING

THE BEACH

Mika : (looking at the beach) I am not gonna go there.Definitely.NO.

Mika turned around  to walk  away but Shinn quickly grabbed her hand.

Shinn : Wait wait wait,whats wrong?

Mika : I don’t like going to the beach(whispering)

Shinn : Are you scared of the water?

Mika : Yes!

Shinn :really?(laughing)

Mika : Are you gonna make fun of me?

Shinn : No NO No -- its just I have never seen you so scared of something before.

Mika : Oh shut it.

Myu : Mika-chan Mika-chan!

Mika : Yes yes Myu?(looking at the 4 years old little girl tugging at her leg)

Myu : lets go now?Come come come?

Akina : Come come!Lets play!

Mika : (hesitating)

Shinn : You'll be fine.

MIka : (sigh)Fine,I'll go. Alright,lets go.

Myu pulled Mika’s hand and then then Aki joined,both of them pulled Mika to the beach and Mika cant do anything but to brace herself and accompany them to the water.

Shinn : I’ll set up the place alright?(laughing)

Mika : You better do and come here later!(annoyed tone)

Myu and Akina really love the ocean so none of them are afraid of the water at all.Mika,on the other hand are standing so still .She needs time to get accustom to the ocean she thought

Akina : Mika-chan Mika-chan!Why are you still there?

Mika : Aaaa nothing nothing.Im fine here.Dont worry alright,I’ll watch you guys from here(waving to Myu and Akina)

Mika braved herself and went closer to the ocean,one step at a time until the water level is at her knees.

Mika : The water is so cold I cant even….

Shinn was busy setting up their picnic place,he was spreading the mat Emi prepared and he did not noticed that all the young girls were looking at him.

Girl 1 : Oh my god,would you look at that…

Girl 2 :He is so sexy,look at those abs and muscles.

Girls 3 : Shhh!He might hear you

Girl 1 : Is he alone?

Girl 2 : (fanning herself) He is too attractive!!!!

Shinn ignored them and continued setting up the place.When he is done with it,he turned around to smiles at the girls who were watching him from the start.

Girl 1 : Are…Are you alone?

Girl 2 : Louder!He cant hear you you know!

Shinn : (turned to the girls) Good Morning(smiles)

Girl 1 : Did you come here alone?

Shinn : Oh no no,I came with my wife.

Shinn : (turned around to search for Mika) Mika!!I have set up the place!

Mika : (turning around to look at Shinn and she quickly turn back) When did he took of his shirt!?

Girls : Oh my god!That must be his wife!

Girls : Wait,are those two cute girls theirs

Girl 1: Are you telling me that they are married!?                                       

Girls : Noo!!!So lucky of her! Yes ther are married!Didnt you hear he said it?

Shinn : (smiling as heard the girls talking about him)

Girls : He is married!!!I guess that Mika is just too lucky (nagging)

Shinn sat and watch Mika taking  care of Myu and Akina and laughed when Mika tried to keep herself from the waves.

Shinn went to Mika and poke her waist.

Mika : What!?

Shinn : Go and rest,I’ll take care of them.

Mika : (closing her eyes)

Shinn : Why are you closing your eyes?

Mika : What do you expect,why did you take off your shirt!?

Shinn : Well,it is the beach?Why not?

Mika : Oh whatever,Im gonna go and prepare the food for you guys.

Shinn : Good wife,good wife.

Mika ignored Shinn and went to the spot where Shinn put their stuffs and she could not help but to realize the young girls sitting next to their spot were looking at her the moment she walked out of the water.

Mika ignored them and continue unpacking the food Emi’s maid has packed for them.Suddenly some of the girls came to  Mika

Girl 1: Ne ne ne…

Mika: Hai?(smiling at the girls kneeling infront of her)

Girl2 : You came with that guy right?

Mika : that guy?Which guy?(puzzled face)

Girl 1: that one in the red boxer.(pointing to Shinn)

Mika : (shocked)

Girl 2: You are so lucky!!I want to cry now.

Girl 3 : And you are pretty yourself too!

Girl 1 : Is the two little girls yours?

Mika : Wait wait what?

Mika cant digest everything the girls were saying and then when she realized is must be Shinn’s work.She knew she would have play along,unwillingly.

Mika : Oh no no no,we just got married.the two kids are my nieces.His sister’s daughters.

Girls : Wahhhhh,newlyweds! When did you both got married!!?

Mika : About 3 or 4 months ago?

Girl 2 : Definitely newlyweds! You both are not from Kyoto right?

Mika : No No,we are from Tokyo. You girls live in Kyoto?

Girls : Yes,we are still schooling.We are so sorry but your husband is very very attractive we thought he was single when we saw him setting up the place

Mika : I get that a lot,no worries (smiling)

The girls then left  got back to their spot and let Mika continue unpacking the food.

Mika : Newlyweds  my ass.My husband my ass.I just have to kill him after this.

Shinn and the two girls played for about half an hour before getting out of the water and went to Mika.

Akina : Mika-chan mika-chan!I am hungry!!

Mika : You are hungry? Do you want sushi or sandwich?(smiling at Akina)

Akina : Can I have both…

Mika : Of course you can.Come give me your plate.

Shinn was carrying Myu in his hands and placed her beside Akina.Both of the little girls were so hungry that they were quite while eating.

Shinn : Tiring indeed.

Mika : I hope your muscles got burn under the sun.Or maybe torn into tiny pieces so that I could feed them to the hungry sharks.

Shinn : (laughing ) And why is that?

Shinn sat beside Mika and Mika does not even look at him,just because he is shirtless.

Mika :What did you  say to the girls?

Shinn : Which girls?

Mika : the  one sitting on our right?

Shinn : (laughing) Oh that one.Why?

Mika : (annoyed)

Shinn lean closer to Mika and Mika quickly leaned  back.

Shinn : Shall we show them how married couples should act like?

Mika took a chopstick and poke Shinn’s waist that made Shinn shriek out of pain

Shinn : That really really hurts.

Mika : I wished the maid packed a knife too just now.

Shinn : Fine fine,Im sorry.

Mika : (sigh)

Shinn : Why are you scared of the ocean?

Mika suddenly turned to Shinn and her face changed.

Mika : I just don’t like them. It brings back memories.

Mika ignored Shinn and continued to entertain Myu and Akina.

Shinn watched Mika as she was entertaining Myu and Akina and helping them eat.Akina and Myu must really like Mika because they got along really really well.And Mika seems to like both of the little girls because she kept on hugging them giving them kissed on their puffy cheeks

.

Shinn then took Myu and Akina for a last dip in the water before asking them to pack their stuffs.At the same time,Emi arrived at the beach and went straight to Mika.

Emi : Mika!Mika!Found you!Where is Shinn and the girls?

Shinn : Here here!*waving

Myu : Okasan!!!(ran towards Emi)

Akina : I miss you (tugging at Emi’s legs)

Mika smiled as s both of the girls hug their mother and telling them what they did at the beach today.

Mika and Shinn helped to pack their stuff and brought the stuff to Emi’s car.

Emi : thank you so much for looking after them alright.How would I live without you both .I better get going now.Ryu is waiting for me in the car.I’ll see you soon alright?

Emi gave Mika and Shinn a quick hug again before getting inside  the car.The driver bowed to them before getting into the driver seat and drove away.
