Chapter 57- Pictures

NIGHT

Kazuya was alone in his room since Mika went home earlier.He was lying on his bed staring at the ceiling Suddenly he got up and and braced himself to walk on his own.He got out from his ward and walked straight to the reception table

Yuumi : Eh!? Kazuya-san!What are you doing here,out of your room!?You should have just pressed the button!

Yuumi quickly went to Kazuya and helped him walk towards the couch at the waiting area.

Kazuya : I..I need you do me a favor.

Yuumi helped Kazuya to sit on one of the couch and then she sat beside him.

Yuumi : A favor?

Kazuya took our his phone from his pocket and hand it to Yuumi.

Kazuya : Can you help me print out all the photos in this phone? There is only one album in here (coughing)

Yuumi : Hah?

Kazuya : Can..you?

Yuumi : ..Of course,I can.No problem at all.(smiles)

Kazuya was coughing so hard that Yuumi quickly went to her table and took bottle of water for Kazuya.

Yuumi : Your throat is dry Kazuya-san,drink this.

Kazuya took a few sips before the  cough eased down and he leaned on the couch.

Yuumi : Are you feeling better now?

Kazuya : (sigh) Yes yes.Thank you so much Yuumi-san

Yuumi : Your photos,I’ll get it print tomorrow alright?

Kazuya : Thank you so much for helping me .I cant find anyone else to help me with this

Yuumi : you can always ask from me Kazuya -san,it’s not like you are not used to me (laughing)

Kazuya : (laughing)

Yuumi : Come,let me help you walk back to your room.You are going to catch a cold if you stay out here longer doctor!

THE NEXT DAY

Yuumi was walking out from the photo shop after getting Kazuya’s photo printed.She put Kazuya’s phone back in her bag and hold the thick envelope with her two hands.

Yuumi : What photos did he asked me to print…(peeking)

WARD 009

Yuumi went to Kazuya’s room to find he was already asleep soundly.She carefully put the envelope on the side table together with his phone.She was really carefull not to make any sound so that Kazuya wont be disturbed.

Yuumi : Mika is very lucky to have you Kazuya-san.Goodnight (smiles)

MORNING

Yuumi was busy writing her report when Kazuya suddenly lean on the table and  tap on the table.

Kazuya : Good Morning!

Yuumi : Rise and Shine Kazuya-san!How are you feeling today?

Kazuya : Never been better.Anyway,thank you for this.(showing the envelope)

Yuumi : Don’t mention it (winks)

Kazuya : IS it possible to ask for another favor?

Yuumi : (laughing) Fire away doctor,what is it?

[Forward to 19^th December,the night Kazuya died]

Yuumi walked towards Mika whom were standing alone at the park,it was around 1 in the morning and after receiving such news,Mika couldn’t even bring herself to sleep.

Yuumi : Mika-san?

Mika : (turned to Yuumi) Eh Yuumi-san?

Yuumi sat beside Mika and smiled to her

Yuumi : I am sorry for your lost.

Mika : …. I think I am prepared for this Yuumi-san.He was leaving anyway.

Yuumi : (sigh)

Mika : Are you done with work?

Yuumi : Miko-san is handling everything with several senior nurses up there.I came down here to give you something

Mika : ??

Yuumi handed a medium sized box to Mika and asked her to take it.

Mika : What is this?

Yuumi swiftly put the box on Mika’s lap and stood up.

Yuumi : you’ll know it when you open it alright Mika-san.I shall be going now (smiles)

Yuumi turned around and walked towards the main door,leaving the speechless Mika alone at the park with no explanation about why she gave her the box.

Mika’s eyes are locked at the light brown box on her lap and she took her time to lift the lid open.When she opened it,there is light cream photo album with the name “ MIKA” engraved on the hard cover.

Mika : (shocked)

Mika at first hesitated to open the album but then,she gathered her will and open it.

“For my love,Mika.Thank you,for everything"

That were the only words written on the first page of the album and Mika knew,it was from Kazuya.She then flipped to the next page and to her surprise,it was filled with photos of her taken secretly by Kazuya.She flipped again through the next pages and all photos in the album are her photos alone.None of the photos are actually taken with her knowing it.It was photos of her that Kazuya secretly took without her noticing because every photo,she didn’t even look at the camera at all.Not even one photo.

Mika :….

Mika closed the album and hold it very tight in her arms.Her cheeks were already wet with her tears because it was impossible to hold back after all.Mika sat there and did nothing.

Mika : You know I am gonna have a hard time letting you go Kazuya.
