Chapter 16-Waltz

THURSDAY

KABUKI PALACE

Mika : Dance?No way.

Ishia : You are the only one I can find on this short notice Mika-san.

Shouji : (looking at Shinn who is standing near the window while rubbing his head)

Ishia : Shinn!Would you please think of this matter?

Mika : (annoyed)

Shinn : No,there is no way I am gonna go with her.

Mika :Not in a gazillion years.

Shinn :Never.

Mika :Ishia-san,I supposed you have to find someone else.

IShia : Please Mika,consider this matter.It was a suddenly invitation and there is no way we could reject the invitation.

Shinn : Shinohara is always giving us headache(annoyed)

Mika : …

Shouji : I really wish we wont have to look very far on this matter.Why don’t you both just go and get it done in a flash.You wont have to talk to the guests there.All you have to do is show up,dance a little and be gone?

Shinn : And that would settle the problem?

Ishia : Shinohara would want the memorial night to be perfect that’s all,which mean--

SHouji : Waltz

Mika : Are you kidding me?Waltz?

Ishia : (kneeling infront of Mika) Onegaishimasu.Mika-san.Im begging you

Shinn : She wont do it.

Mika : OH my god,Ishia,stand up.

Ishia : Not until you agree to dance with Shinn.

Mika : Dancing?Oh god--

Shouji : NO worries,If you are worried about not knowing how to dance.I can call Jin and Eri to teach you both.

Shinn : That Jin?From the--

Shouji : Who else of course?

Shinn : (sigh)

Mika : You leave me with no choice.

Shinn : (looked at Mika)

Ishia : SO you agree!?

Mika :Like I said,I have no other options.On second thoughts,who would volunteer to dance with a brat like this guy

Shinn : Excuse me?

Mika : (ignoring Shinn)

SHouji : I’ll give Jin a call then.

JIN 'S DANCING STUDIO

Shinn : So you do want to dance?(smirks)

Mika : (ignoring Shinn)

Shinn and Mika walked to the studio and went to the room they asked to go.Mika was about to open the door but then Shinn stopped her.

Mika : What?

Shinn : Before you get inside,let me tell you that Jin is very very dangerous.So you better stay close to me.

Mika : Oh shut up.

Shinn : I am serious.

Mika :Whatever Shinn.

Mika opened the door to reveal a fully wooden floored room and fully mirrored on one side.She then saw two person are dancing or maybe practicing in the middle of the room to a song she is familiar with.

Mika : Gackt’s Vanilla?Are you serious?(laughed)

Shinn : (closed the door)

Mika stood there because she was to absorbed watching the two person,a man and a lady dancing tango with such passionate and intimate movements,but skilled too.Mika thought their moves were so perfect that it is almost flawless whenever they did a turn or twist their bodies.

Shinn : (looking at Mika and laughed)

Mika was still into the dance and she cant take her eyes of the two person infront of her.

Jin : (stopped dancing)Oh my,Shinn!

Eri : (turned around) You are here!

Shinn :Jin,Eri .*bows.

Jin : And this must be the Mika they were talking about.(turning to Mika)

Mika :*bows.

Jin leaned too close to Mika that Mika has to bend backward a bit before Eri pulled him back

Eri : Ignore him.That is Jin.I am Eri.(smiles)

Jin : Good lord,Eri.why must you do that.

Eri : You just cant take your eyes off beautiful women that’s why.

Shinn : Lets get to the main business Jin.

Eri : Too fast,but oh well,waltz right?

Jin : Waltz,waltz,waltz,waltz! The most romantic dance of all dances!(clapping)

Mika actually know how to waltz but she refuse to tell them because she sees no significant on telling them.Pretending not to know would be great for now she thought.

Eri : Do you know how to?

Mika : ….

Jin : Don’t worry my darling Mika.May I?(putting his hand out)

Eri : Go ahead.Shinn come,lets watch them first.  Shinohara’s yearly dance party I suppose?

Shinn : (sigh)What else.I didn’t come last year’s so.

Eri : Your new assistant does not look stiff at all.

Shinn : I don’t think she dance.

Eri : (looking at Mika)

Shinn : How long will this last?

Eri : If you are good,and Mika is good to go.We are done.Simple as that.

Jin pulled Mika’s hand and brought her to the centre of the room.

Jin : Alright Mika my darling.You are going to follow my lead.Put your hand on my left shoulder.Your right hand please.We’ll do the easiest way.

Mika hesitated at first,but then she managed to put her right hand on Jin’s left shoulder.Jin then took her right hand and hold it firm into his palm

Jin : Alright,so this is how the position of you and you(looking at shinn).

Mika : (looking at Jin)

Jin :Your hands are very firm.Have you dance before Mika?

Mika : No.

Jin : Your body is not stiff at all,it will be easy to teach you then.Alright,the steps goes like this. 1-2-3-4-1-2-3-4-1-2-3-4-1-2-3-4 and and turn and repeat again.

Mika : *nods

Jin : We go one by one,when my right legs goes to the front,your left will go to the back and vice versa.The pace must be 1:2 alright?Understand?

Shinn and Eri watched as Jin teaches Mika the dance and they were very surprised to find Mika is such a fast leaner that she made no mistake even at her first attempt(or maybe not) on waltz.

Eri : She is good.really good Shinn.I think she can get them right in no time at all!

Shinn : She told me she does not know how to waltz.

Eri : She told you,she didn’t say it was not a lie too (chuckles)

Jin and Mika dances around the room and Jin was impressed by Mika’s perfect timing and when he twirled Mika,Mika did it like it was something she do everyday.It was a perfect twirl.

Jin: (clapping) Oh my god,Mika.You need no practice at all!I doubt that this is the first time dancing?

Mika : Not really.

Jin: Have you taken any waltz lessons?

Mika : NO.

Jin : Then,how in the world you manage to dance perfectly just now?(curious)

Eri : Im curious too!(walked towards Mika)

Jin and Eri looked at Mika,waiting for her to say something.Mika backed   a little before sighing.

Mika : (sigh) I know waltz since I was small because my mother was a waltz teacher before.

Jin and Eri : (shocked)OH my god,your mother!What is her name!?We might know her!

Mika : I doubt you guys do.

Eri : Her name ?

Mika : Kawasa Mayuki.

Eri : NO kidding

Jin : The Kawasa Mayuki?She wrote the “Waltz of the season”!That one?

Mika :Yes Indeed.

Shinn was shocked when she heard Mika said that.

Shinn : Now this is annoying,Why didn’t I know that.

Mika : Why should I tell you

Eri : this is such an honour to met Kawasa-sama’s daughter.

Jin : *bows.My pleasure indeed.

Eri : NO wonder your movement is so flawless I might surrender my skills.Your skills is from blood indeed.

Mika :(smiles)

Jin : Alright,Shinn! Go!Your turn your turn.

Jin dragged Shinn infront of Mika and get them to stand very very close.

Jin : Alright,your hand goes to her waist.(took Shinn’s hand and put at Mika’s waist)

Eri : And your hand my darling,on his shoulder .Alright perfect.

Jin : Im gonna play the song again.Wait let me choose another song.

Shinn : (looking at Mika)I thought you don’t waltz.

Mika : Not with you of course(waltz)

Suddenly the song started playing and Eri starts counting.

Eri : Alright,1-2-- Shinn start dancing!

Shinn : Oh sorry.

Shinn and Mika started dancing they began slowly to get accustom to the song and near the end Jin stopped them.

Jin : Wait,something is wrong.Shinn,you have to look at Mika’s eyes.And Mika you would have to do the same.Waltz is not all about body movements only alright.Your eyes,your heart and your soul must connect!

Eri : (nods)

Jin :Alright look into her eyes Shinn(holding the back of Shinn’s head)

Eri : And you must not take your eyes off her.Alright start again.

Jin pressed the play button and when the song started playing neither Shinn and Mika moved.

Mika : Why are you not moving?

Shinn : Why are YOU not moving?

Eri : What are you both doing?(sigh) Too awkward,too awkward.Shinn loosen up,loose up the stiffness

Eri smacks every parts of Shinn’s body and arranged their hand positions again.

Jin : Save the love letter my darlings.Dance first.Dance dance,alright lets.

Mika : (annoyed)

Shinn and Mika started dancing and they dance through the 6 minutes waltz song .They repeat again and again while Eri and Jinn teaching them when to stop and when to start again.It took about half an hour to get Mika’s and Shinn’s movement to match and in the end,they did.

Jin : Please be perfect(whispering)

Eri and Jin got their eyes on Shinn and Mika’s feet so that the last twirl they were going to make would be perfect.

Shinn twirled Mika perfect and they both ended the dance with no mistake at all

Eri and Jin jumped out of excitement and ran towards Shinn and Mika

Eri : You guys were perfect!And there we so much passion in it!I can ensure you both would have no problem tomorrow!

Shinn was looking at Mika that he didn’t realize what Eri and Jinn were talking about until Jin came to him and smack his head.

Jin : Stop staring at her.

Shinn :(snapped out)Wh--what.

Jin : (lean close to Shinn) Falling for her eh?

Shinn : Oh shut up Jin.

Jin : (laughing) I haven’t seen that look for so long you know.

Eri was talking to Mika while Jin and Shinn were watching them.

Shinn : Oh what do you know .

Jin : What I know is,you cant hide your feelings anymore.That look is the look Shinn.(poked Shinn’s chest)

Shinn : Shut up

Jin : Alright alright.But seriously.I had that look when I realized Im falling for Eri.

Shinn : (turned to Jin)

Jin : Yes yes.Didnt realize she was the one until I finally realize I cant go on a day without her.

Eri : Alright!we are done here!Nice meeting you Mika!Good luck for tomorrow alright!Im sure you would not have any problem*winks

Mika : I hope so.Thank you for spending your time with us.Eri-san*bows

Eri : NO problem.We’ll meet again anytime soon okay?
