Chapter 43

DOWNSTAIRS

Haruna : Mika!

Mika was already walking towards her bike and her helmet is already in her hands.

Haruna : Where are you going?

Mika : Somewhere far Haruna.I don’t even know

Haruna : Mika,wait wait.

Mika : I cant do this.

Haruna : (looking at Mika)

Mika : I better go before Shinn comes.

Haruna : (looking at the door) I don’t think Tsuzuku is gonna let him go anyway.But where are you heading?

Mika : The only place where no one can find me.

Mika put on her helmet and got onto her bike.

Mika : Haruna.

Haruna : Are you sure about this.

Mika : Im going alone and you know where to find me later on.Im gonna go first alright.I’ll see you anytime soon.

Mika turn on her engine and withing seconds she was already out of Haruna’s sight.

Haruna :The place where no one can find you?(sigh)

Haruna just stood there and after a while Minami came to her.

Minami : She left already?

Haruna : Yes(sigh)

Minami : I guess you better go upstairs and check on them.I’ll be down here alright.It’s your time to resolve this Haruna-chan.

Haruna turned to her mother and smiled.

Minami : Don’t worry about Mika.She is one strong person.She wont be gone for long.You know her more than I do.

Haruna suddenly remembered when Mika ran away from home after her mother’s death  and she did the same thing when his father died.And now,she is gone again.

HARUNA’S ROOM

Shinn : (looking at Tsuzuku)

Tsuzuku : What the heck were you thinking you idiot? Why were you thinking?What exactly is running in your bloody mind ?!

Meisa : Tsuzuku,calm down.

Tsuzuku :NO,I am not mad.I just don’t understand the point of him being the barrier between Mika and the late Rina.

Caroline sat infront of Shinn and her face were straight and expressionless.

Haruna : (opened the door) Is everything alright?

Meisa : She left?

Haruna : (nods)

Shinn :Did she tell where is she heading?

Haruna : No.

Meisa : Mika…

Caroline : Shin,as much as I want to stay cool about this.Seeing your face makes me want to put my spiky rings into your mouth

Shinn said nothing because his head was spinning and he couldn’t think of anything at all.

Haruna came to Shinn and stood infront of him,looking down at him.

Haruna : I want to trust you,I really do but the fact that Rina is connected to this.It’s pretty messed up.

Meisa : Tsuzuku,should we leave them? I think Haruna and Caroline would love to talk to Shinn personally.

Tsuzuku : 10 minutes.If you ever say anything bad,don’t trust me of holding my temper Shinn.

Meisa tugged Tsuzuku’s hand and went out of the room.

Haruna : Shinn,you tell me.Everything,from your side.

Caroline : Fair enough.

Shinn : My side?

Haruna : Your side of the story.

Shinn : (sigh)

Caroline : You don’t have any?(annoyed)

Haruna : (looking at Shinn) You don’t?

Shinn  hesitated at first but with four eyes are locked on him and not talking is probably a bad idea he thought.

Caroline : time is ticking Shinn.

Shinn : I didn’t know at first.But,when I first saw her,she really resembles Rina-san I thought.But I didn’t say anything.Day after day,my instinct keeps bugging me that I always asked her if she have a sister.She said no and she would answer the same thing whenever I asked her.  When I discovered about the necklace she wears,I knew Rina and Mika is connected .Rina once told me she have a sister,but they were separated when they were little.And Rina told me about the necklace. But at first,I refuse to understand the whole situation.Not until  I began to remember everything Rina ever said . 2 years ago,there was one day we decided to go out to a park.And it was a few months before she died,something happened that. I went to the nearby shop to get my wallet I accidentally left. Rina was alone at the park when suddenly a snatcher took her handbag and pushed her.And coincidencly ,Mika was the one who caught the guy and returned the handbag to  Rina. After that,Rina told me that she had found her sister but that is all. She said nothing and answered nothing when I asked her when and where.She just kept it to herself. 

Haruna : So,you were the one who called her delinquent that day.Should have known.(sarcastic tone)

Caroline : You what?(shocked)

Shinn : I didn’t realize that Mika was the girl from that day until I saw that pendant. When I was at the hospital with Rina,a few hours before she…died. Rina gave me the necklace and told me to find her sister and ..

Haruna : And?

Shinn : She said that I will eventually meet her sister,Mika and get to know her. She said that whatever she does is a reflection of her sister.I strongly opposed to that at first,but all along she was right.

Caroline : Rina said that?

Shinn : It may sounds illogical but she somehow predicted the future.I did meet her sister and--

Haruna : You did fell in love with her.

Shinn looked at Haruna before answering.

Shinn : Yes.If you guys really think what I saw in Mika was Rina.At first,I thought the same too.I thought I am just too disturbed about the feelings I had for Rina. And I thought this feelings is just the feelings I had for Rina.I thought about that too.And I know you guys thought about it. But,no.This is different.I wouldn’t know the ways to prove it to you guys but,you guys would have to trust me.

Caroline suddenly stood up and went to Shinn.

Caroline : I have something to ask you Shinn..

Haruna :????

Caroline : You know Mika does not tell everyone about her personal things?

Haruna : Well,yes.

Caroline : So,Shinn.

Shinn : (puzzled)

Caroline : May I know if Mika ever told you why she never likes going to the ocean?

Haruna : (shocked) that one?

Caroline : That one Haruna.Only you and me Knows it.Not even Tsuzuku and Meisa.Even Minami-san does not know about this one.

Shinn : the ocean?

Caroline : Yes.

Shinn : She never--

Shinn suddenly remember what Mika said to him when he asked about her fear of the ocean.Shinn remembered every single thing  she said and when he finally managed to gather everything in his head,he looked up .

Shinn : Her family.

Caroline : Her family?

Haruna : Continue please?

Shinn : No,she is not afraid of the water nor the ocean.She is afraid of her own memories.Yes,her own memories of what happened the last time she went there with her parents and sister.Now it makes sense..

Caroline : She did tell you…..hmmmm.I should have realized that time..(sigh)

Haruna : Do you know that Mika does not tell everyone about that part of her life?

Shinn : She didn’t?

Caroline : Including you,that makes three of us Shinn.And that proves that she  must have trust you.Well I guess so.

Haruna : Now,it’s up to you Shinn.
